1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Family Expenses (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Family Expenses ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

Family Expenses is a subscription-based mobile application that provides:

• Personal expense tracking and categorization
• Family circle functionality for shared expense management
• Custom category creation with icons and colors
• Monthly spending goals and analytics
• Cloud synchronization across devices
• Push notifications for family activity
• Expense history and reporting

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Requirements

• You must be at least 9 years old to use the App
• You must provide accurate and complete registration information
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account

3.2 Account Security

• You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
• We are not liable for any loss or damage from your failure to maintain account security
• You may not share your account with others or allow others to access your account

4. Subscription Terms

4.1 Subscription Required

Access to Family Expenses requires an active paid subscription. We offer the following subscription options:

• Monthly Subscription: Automatically renews every month
• Yearly Subscription: Automatically renews every year

4.2 Payment

• Subscriptions are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system
• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• All prices are in the currency displayed at the time of purchase
• Prices may change at any time, but changes will not affect existing subscriptions until renewal

4.3 Auto-Renewal

4.4 Managing Subscriptions

• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods

4.5 Free Trials

If we offer a free trial:

• The trial period will be specified at the time of sign-up
• You will be charged when the trial period ends unless you cancel before then
• Only one trial per user

5. Refund Policy

Refunds are handled by Apple according to their policies. To request a refund:

1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
2. Sign in with your Apple ID
3. Find the Family Expenses subscription and request a refund

We do not have access to process refunds directly. All refund decisions are made by Apple.

6. Family Circles

6.1 Creating and Joining Circles

• You can create family circles to share expenses with other users
• When you join a circle, your expense data for that circle is visible to all members
• Circle creators can remove members at any time
• You can leave a circle at any time

6.2 Circle Data

• Data you add to a family circle is shared with all circle members
• When you leave a circle, your data remains visible to other members
• When a circle is disbanded, all members lose access to that circle's data

6.3 Appropriate Use

• Use family circles only with people you trust
• Do not share circles with unauthorized users
• Do not use circles for commercial purposes

7. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright or proprietary notices
• Use automated systems or software to extract data from the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Upload viruses, malware, or malicious code
• Impersonate other users or misrepresent your affiliation with others
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users

8. User Content and Data

8.1 Your Data

• You retain all ownership rights to the expense data you create
• You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of your data
• You grant us a license to store and process your data to provide the service

8.2 Prohibited Content

You may not use the App to store or share:

• Illegal content or content promoting illegal activities
• Content that violates others' intellectual property rights
• Malicious or harmful content

9. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.

10. Intellectual Property

10.1 Our Rights

• The App and all its content, features, and functionality are owned by us
• All trademarks, logos, and service marks are our property or our licensors'
• You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App

10.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

11. Disclaimers

We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
• Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of data
• Warranties that the App will meet your requirements

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
• OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS
• WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION
• WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR FINANCIAL DECISIONS YOU MAKE BASED ON APP DATA

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of others
• Your data or content

14. Termination

14.1 By You

• You may cancel your subscription at any time through Apple's settings
• You may delete your account at any time through the App
• Termination takes effect at the end of your current billing period

14.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if:

• You violate these Terms
• Your subscription payment fails
• We are required to do so by law
• We discontinue the App (with 30 days notice)

15. Changes to Terms

• We may modify these Terms at any time
• We will notify you of material changes through the App or email
• Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
• If you don't agree to changes, you must stop using the App and cancel your subscription

16. Changes to the App

• We may modify, update, or discontinue the App at any time
• We may add or remove features without notice
• We are not liable for any changes, suspension, or discontinuation of the App

17. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services (Firebase, Apple services). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

18. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles.

19. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the App shall be resolved through:

1. Good faith negotiation between the parties
2. Mediation if negotiation fails
3. Arbitration or small claims court as a final resort

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
